About
Born in Massapequa Park, New York in 1954, Allen Lowe is an alto saxophonist, guitarist, music historian and sound restoration specialist who has worked with notable jazz figures like Roswell Rudd, Don Byron, David Murray, and Julius Hemphill. He holds a master’s degree in Library Sciences from St. John’s University, dropped out of Yale School of Drama, and has produced expansive historical projects, books, and multi-CD sets on early American popular song, jazz, and the blues.
