About
Ben Barnett grew up on Long Island, NY, and earned his Bachelor of Music at the Conservatory of Music, Purchase College (SUNY) studying with John Fedchock and Tim Albright, and later a Master of Musical Education from Hofstra University. He is an adjunct jazz trombone faculty at UMass Amherst and was formerly manager at Smalls Jazz Club in NYC. As a freelancer, he has performed with luminaries like Arturo O’Farrill, Ellis Marsalis, Barry Harris, and others.
