About

Raised in a musical family living in Manhattan Plaza, Caleb Tobocman began playing upright bass at age 16 and quickly developed into one of New York City’s most in-demand young bassists. He studied at Manhattan School of Music under Ron Carter and Buster Williams, and has already shared the bandstand with luminaries like Vincent Herring, George Coleman, Nicholas Payton, and Emmet Cohen. Known for both his rich tone and versatile technique, Tobocman regularly performs in small ensembles and contributes to major recordings.
