DoYeon Kim is an internationally acclaimed gayageum player who synthesizes Korean traditional music, jazz, and improvisation into a distinctive contemporary sound. She was the first student admitted to the New England Conservatory's Contemporary Improvisation Department to play a Korean traditional instrument. Recognized by Grammy.com as one of 7 musicians pushing ancient Asian instruments into the future, she has performed globally and released multiple albums including her 2026 debut bandleader album Wellspring.
