Born in Corvallis, Oregon in 1971, Eyvind Kang is an American composer and multi-instrumentalist who has become a central figure in experimental and avant-garde music since the mid-1990s. Raised across Canada and Iceland, he studied at Cornish College for the Arts and with spiritual jazz violinist Michael White, later studying classical Indian violin with Dr. N. Rajam in India. His prolific output spans over 30 years of recordings and extensive collaborations with Bill Frisell, John Zorn, Laurie Anderson, and many others.
