Steven Ellison, known as Flying Lotus, is a Los Angeles-based record producer, DJ, filmmaker, and rapper born in 1983. He is the great-nephew of jazz legends Alice and John Coltrane and has released seven critically acclaimed albums since 2006. Flying Lotus founded the influential Brainfeeder record label and is recognized for dissolving boundaries between jazz, hip-hop, and experimental electronic music.
