Greg Cohen is an American jazz bassist born July 13, 1953, in Los Angeles. Best known for his 20+ years as a member of John Zorn's Masada quartet, Cohen has built a four-decade career marked by extraordinary versatility, collaborating with artists ranging from Tom Waits and Ornette Coleman to Elvis Costello and Bill Frisell. He relocated to New York City in 1984 and is now a bass professor at the Jazz Institute Berlin.
