About

Born in Buenos Aires in 1969, Guillermo Klein graduated from Berklee College of Music in 1994 and built his reputation through a landmark residency at Smalls jazz club in New York City with his large ensemble Los Guachos. Known for highly original harmonic concepts, he has led Los Guachos at the Village Vanguard annually since 2007 and has taught composition across Europe and South America.

Music Style

Klein's music weaves Argentine folk forms, tango, minimalism, and postmodern jazz into intricate, singable compositions marked by off-kilter meters, interlocking rhythmic cells, and lush orchestral color.
