Born in Boston in 1991, Henry Fraser is a double bassist, bass guitarist, and composer based in Brooklyn since 2014. He graduated from New England Conservatory of Music with a B.F.A. in 2014, studying with Cecil McBee, John McNeil, Anthony Coleman, and Ted Reichman. His rigorous solo bass explorations and collaborative work across jazz, free improvisation, and experimental music have established him as a technical and creative force among his generation.
