John Lang is an American jazz bassist born May 10, 1952, in Arizona. He is known for his work in performance, arranging, and composition, leading his own quintet and nonet, heading projects like Kolotov Mocktails, and holding a faculty position at the Music Conservatory of Westchester since 2014. He resides in the Hudson River Valley with his wife and son, and in fall 2020 entered the SUNY Purchase jazz department as a master’s candidate.
