Julian Lage
Eclectic Jazz Storyteller
Julian Lage blends impeccable technique with a deep exploration of American roots music, creating a modern jazz sound that is both soulful and sophisticated.
About
A former child prodigy from California, Julian Lage has emerged as a premier guitarist of his generation. After early work with vibraphonist Gary Burton, he established a prolific solo career characterized by a boundary-blurring style that integrates jazz, folk, and classical traditions.
Music Style
Lage's sound is defined by a warm, melodic approach that bridges post-bop jazz with Americana. He frequently uses a Telecaster to achieve a clear, bell-like tone and spontaneous, conversational phrasing.
