About
Born August 14, 1968 in Manhattan, New York, Justin Robinson began playing alto saxophone at age thirteen and attended LaGuardia High School of Music & Arts. He joined the Harper Brothers at age eighteen and released his solo debut *Justin Time* on Verve in 1991, later becoming a longtime collaborator of trumpeter Roy Hargrove. Robinson has performed with numerous jazz icons and remains a significant figure bridging post-bop tradition and contemporary jazz horn work.
