About
Ken Fowser, a Philadelphian-born tenor saxophonist, has been a major presence on the New York jazz scene since 2005. He has released multiple critically acclaimed albums as a leader and with vibraphonist Behn Gillece on Posi-Tone Records, earning top spots on jazz radio charts. His performance residencies at Smalls, Smoke, and now The Django reflect his significance as both a bandleader and educator in jazz circles.
Music Style
Fowser’s sound combines a rich, full-bodied tenor tone rooted in hard bop and the Philly jazz tradition, with fluid, lyrical improvisations and complex harmonic textures. His compositions strike a balance of classic swing, blues-infused feels, and contemporary sophistication.
