Kenny Davis is an American jazz bassist born September 4, 1961, in Chicago. He discovered jazz at Northeastern Illinois University and became a fixture in the Chicago scene before moving to New York in 1986, where he joined Out of the Blue and collaborated with jazz legends including Herbie Hancock, Cassandra Wilson, and Art Farmer. He served as bassist for The Tonight Show Band from 1999-2002 and is currently a professor of Jazz Bass and Jazz History at Rutgers University.
