About
New York City–based jazz trombonist Mariel Bildsten has earned international acclaim for her dynamic artistry, which DownBeat Magazine describes as “irrepressibly spontaneous.” She has performed with Jon Batiste, Roy Hargrove, Jennifer Hudson, Dee Dee Bridgewater, John Clayton, Herlin Riley, Dick Oatts, and the Mingus Big Band at major venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Radio City Music Hall, the Newport Jazz Festival, and the Apollo Theater. Originally from Santa Barbara, California, she is a graduate of The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music (BFA, 2015).
