Born in Brooklyn and raised in Baton Rouge, Mark Whitfield Jr. is a premier drummer in modern jazz. A Berklee honors graduate, he gained international recognition as a member of Kenny Garrett’s ensemble. He is a central figure in the NYC scene, performing with the Black Art Jazz Collective and the Wayne Escoffery Quartet.
