About
Mike Troy is a saxophonist, composer, educator, and multi-instrumentalist who started on saxophone at age 9, studying classical and jazz rigorously under William Eicher and Dave Schiavone. He earned a BFA in Music Performance, Jazz Studies at SUNY Purchase in 2015, studying with prominent jazz figures such as Eric Alexander, Gary Smulyan, Steve Wilson, and others. Based in New York City since around 2012, Troy has performed internationally and at dozens of major jazz venues and festivals, while teaching improvisation, repertoire, and multiple instruments across various settings.

His musical approach fuses the accessible melodies of smooth jazz with the rhythmic sophistication and emotive depth of R&B and soul music, creating an inviting and soulful listening experience.
