Solomon Gottfried is a native New Yorker who began playing double bass at age 12. He trained at Interlochen Arts Academy, Manhattan School of Music Pre-College, and the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. He performs widely as a bandleader and sideman, and is co-founder and artistic director of New York City jazz club “Close Up”.
