Taboo Jazz is a recurring performance series at The Red Pavilion in Brooklyn led by trumpet player Gordon Au and the Red Pavilion Jazz Band. The series explores early 20th-century jazz with provocative themes ranging from race to sex, drugs, and booze. The Red Pavilion Jazz Band is the resident ensemble performing every Friday night with Chinese popular music from the 1920s-1960s.
