About
Led by saxophonist David DeJesus, a fixture on the New York City music scene for three decades, The Birdland Latin Jazz Orchestra performs classic Latin jazz repertoire including works by Machito, Tito Puente, Ray Barretto, and Eddie Palmieri. Composed of rotating New York City musicians, the ensemble debuted at Birdland Jazz Club and draws on DeJesus's experience with the Village Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, Mingus Big Band, and Arturo O'Farrill's Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra.
Music Style
