The Music Of The Buena Vista Social Club A Tribute To The Golden Age Of Cuba
Heritage Reimagined
Timeless Cuban classics meet flamenco, world rhythms, and improvisation in a vivid tribute inspired by the Buena Vista Social Club.
About
Formed by Francois Wiss, Damian Quiñones, and José Ramon Rosario, this ensemble revitalizes legendary Cuban repertoire through fresh arrangements and cross-cultural inflections. Wiss, a French-American guitarist steeped in flamenco and world music, collaborates with Bronx-born multi-instrumentalist Quiñones and veteran percussionist Rosario to honor Cuba’s golden musical era. Their shows blend historical reverence with modern creative expression.
Music Style
They reinterpret pieces by Ibrahim Ferrer, Eliades Ochoa, Rubén González, Compay Segundo, and others, infusing classic boleros, sones, danzón and guarachas with flamenco guitar, Afro-Caribbean percussion, and improvisational flair.
