About
Born May 22, 1982 in Albany, New York, Theo Hill began classical piano lessons at age five with Mary Moran before embracing jazz study with Lee Shaw at twelve. He graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s in jazz from SUNY Purchase in 2004, and has gone on to record multiple albums as a leader while performing widely as both bandleader and sideman across the U.S. and internationally. Known for his work with ensembles such as the Mingus Big Band and T.S. Monk Sextet, Hill is also a dedicated educator teaching privately and in higher education institutions.
