Tim Ferguson is a New York–based double bassist, composer, and educator known for his long history of performances as a sideman with jazz luminaries like Don Friedman, Cecil Bridgewater, Mel Lewis, Eddie Harris, Tony Scott, and the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra. He leads his own projects—including the Tom Dempsey/Tim Ferguson Quartet, his trio Inside/Out, and the piano trio Stevens, Siegel & Ferguson—and has released recordings such as the Grammy–nominated Beautiful Friendship (2012). He holds a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from William Paterson College, studied at Interlochen Arts Academy, and serves as faculty at institutions like the New York Jazz Academy and Trinity School.
