Tyler Bullock
Next-Gen Virtuoso
Meet Tyler Bullock II — a bold young pianist crafting powerful musical narratives that bridge jazz tradition with fresh, contemporary energy.
About
Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Tyler Bullock II began classical piano lessons at age four and cello at ten, and discovered jazz in middle school through workshops and camps. In 2021 he moved to New York to study at The Juilliard School, and since then has emerged as a leading voice among jazz pianists of his generation, performing with legends like Dee Dee Bridgewater, Sean Jones, and the Roy Hargrove Big Band. He's been recognized with major honors, including being named a 2026 Gilmore Bell Young Jazz Artist and the National Young Arts top jazz piano winner in 2022.
Music Style
Tyler’s music melds a deep respect for jazz lineage—from Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Bud Powell, and others—with influences from Black gospel, Motown, and Western classical traditions, yielding compositions rich in narrative and emotional breadth. His performances, often led by his trio or in collaboration with horns and vocalists, give space for improvisation, interplay, and spiritual uplift.
