Born in New Orleans in 1961, Wynton Marsalis is a world-renowned trumpeter, composer, bandleader, and the Managing and Artistic Director of Jazz at Lincoln Center. He sparked a jazz renaissance in the 1980s, has released over 127 recordings, won nine Grammy Awards, and in 1997 became the first jazz musician to win the Pulitzer Prize for Music.
