The Boss Baritones continue the jazz tradition of great tenor pairings by featuring two leading baritone saxophonists: Gary Smulyan, a six-time Grammy winner regarded as today's premier baritone player, and Frank Basile, a rising star who has performed with major orchestras including the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra and Count Basie Orchestra. The ensemble debuted in March 2020 at Smalls Jazz Club in New York City and has since released their debut recording on Steeplechase Records.
