Bar Bayeux

Bar Bayeux opened its doors in late 2018 as a cocktail bar in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, offering artisanal drinks and a backyard garden. Founded by neighborhood entrepreneurs, it has evolved quickly into a respected venue for live jazz, hosting well-known local talent and nurturing newcomers. Today Bar Bayeux presents live jazz almost nightly. The space is cozy and intimate, with seating tightly arranged around a small performance area near the front bar and décor marked by dark red walls and lush curtains. Sets are scheduled in multiple slots (often around 6-7:30 PM early, and 8 & 9:30 PM later) and there is no cover charge—just a required drink per set. The crowd tends to be serious jazz enthusiasts, locals, and people who appreciate the music over ambience; talking is possible but quieter attendees are preferred. The venue is a narrow, elegant space featuring a long wooden bar and a dedicated performance area at the rear that emphasizes acoustic clarity. It functions as a serious listening room where the music takes center stage, attracting a focused crowd of locals and dedicated jazz enthusiasts.
