Birds opened in 2025, founded by Naama and Assaf Tamir of Lighthouse and Messy, along with bartender Steve Schneider (Sip & Guzzle). It aims to give musicians a home by offering a warm listening-room space that blends jazz, funk, and global sounds. Since its debut, it’s presented both rising artists and special guests, extending beyond just jazz into blues, bossa, and breaks. The venue is an intimate, 1,200-square-foot space with deep blue velvet curtains, plush banquettes, and a cherry wood bar seating about a dozen. Two nightly sets start around 7:30 PM and 9:30 PM. The sound is close, acoustic-forward—the layout ensures that every seat offers a clear view of the stage. The crowd is a mix of serious listeners, date-night couples, and locals who appreciate both craft cocktails and live music. Key features include deep blue velvet curtains, plush two- and four-top tables, cozy bar seating, and a living-room energy in dim lighting. The music ranges from jazz, funk, and global grooves to rising local acts and occasional bigger names, with vinyl DJ sets before and after live shows. The venue is ideal for intimate evening listening or date night, offering solid snacks but not a full dinner service.
