About

Opened in 2015 within the cellar of The Roxy Hotel, The Django was designed to evoke the spirit of classic Parisian jazz boîtes. Named after the legendary guitarist Django Reinhardt, the venue has quickly established itself as a cornerstone of the Tribeca music scene, hosting a diverse array of world-class musicians in a room that feels both historic and fresh. The space is characterized by its dramatic vaulted brick ceilings, vintage lighting, and plush red velvet accents that create an intimate yet grand underground environment. With a state-of-the-art Meyer Sound system and a hand-picked selection of performers curated by saxophonist Ken Fowser, the club offers a high-fidelity listening experience that draws a mix of serious jazz aficionados and stylish locals. The Django presents jazz shows nightly, including early‐door evening performances, later after-dark sets, and Sunday matinees. The physical layout includes two cocktail bars, open dining areas, and a stage in a cellar-level room with a warm, clubby vibe. The crowd spans jazz connoisseurs to couples on date night, with a level of decorum expected—quiet during performances and conversation limited to intermissions. Key features include an upscale supper club atmosphere with Art Deco design and burgundy banquettes. The music ranges from traditional and contemporary jazz, featuring both established and emerging artists. The experience combines fine dining with jazz, and a dress code is encouraged.
