The Jazz Club

Founded in 2022 as part of the Aman New York hotel, The Jazz Club occupies a subterranean space designed to echo the Prohibition-era speakeasies, masterminded by designer Jean-Michel Gathy. It’s overseen by Creative Director Brian Newman and sits beneath the historic Crown Building, a landmark once home to the Museum of Modern Art. This intimate 3,000-square-foot venue features a state-of-the-art acoustic system and a minimalist, dark-toned aesthetic that emphasizes the performance. The room is centered around a grand piano and a sleek stage, offering plush seating and a 'listening room' environment that remains social yet respectful of the music, attracting a mix of hotel guests and local jazz aficionados. The Jazz Club is a nightly destination for live jazz, sometimes paired with DJs, dancing, or production elements, offering a blend of performance and party in one room. The space is underground, entered via a private entrance on West 56th Street, with dim lighting, plush seating, and a centerpiece 1962 Steinway baby grand piano visible from most vantage points.
